BMW paint
My car was hit at the rear bumper. I took it to a bodyshop to replace the bumper. They said they will order the BMW OEM bumper and use PPG paint. I asked them why not use BMW original paint. They replied that BMW's paint is also OEM one and PPG is the one I will get if I repair my car at the dealer. Which paint does BMW use as the original paint and how good is PPG compared to the BMW original one? Many thanks.
| | Reply » BMW paint | The paint that BMW uses when the car is built probably would not be legal in the US... Too many bad chemicals in it.... PPG is used at the BMW dealer I have dealt with, as well as the VW dealership, and MBZ dealer.... I am sure that you will be getting a quality paint from PPG...

They have some of the toughest environmental laws in the world. BMW Manufacturing uses the most advanced painting systems made, water soluble, non-polluting, recyclable. Do some research before making statements like the above...hit BMW World on the web and read about their painting process.
