SPX OTC Oil Reset Tool HELP!
Just bought an SPX OTC Oil Reset Tool on Ebay without a manual figuring how complicated could it be? Well I've connected the tool (model 3596E w/ 20 pin adapter) to my 323i (7/99 build) and although the device reads that the oil reset has occurred, that isn't the case. I'm aware of the jumper wire method covered many times in this forum but I'd really like to find out how to use this reset tool. I could buy a manual for $50 but then I'd be spending more on the manual than I did on the tool.
Anybody have a manual for this tool? Or a link to a website that has the manual? The company that makes the tool, SPX OTC has some manuals on their site but not the one for this tool.
Any help would be appreciated.

The information I was missing was the state the car should be in when connecting and reseting the oil service interval. Here is the procedure
1. With the ignition off, connect tool.
2. Turn ignition key to the 2nd position, do not start engine.
3. Select manufacturer, then the model on tool
4. Select oil reset of service reset, then hit enter (e)
5. When done, turn ignition off, and unplug tool.
When you restart the car, dash should indicate new reset mileage until service is required
