Beware all you future ED'ers! This is the worst part of the ED process. Waiting for the car after it hits port!
My car made it to Port Hueneme last Monday. That is a mere 250 miles away! It's been almost a week and no word of its short trip here! I've called the trucking company and they say it has not been released for shipping!
The worst part I say! The worst! Be forewarned...the pain of waiting is hard! Very hard!

It cannot be released for shipping until 1.) it first clears customs and 2.) it goes through the VDC
Here are photos of my car wending its way through the process.
1.) At the pier after off-loading. 2.) En route from the pier to the VDC on the private road. 3.) Waiting its turn before entering the VDC process. 4.) In the VDC facility.

I think it's harder at this point because there's no tracking information. It just goes into a black hole until the dealer calls you.

The worst part is if the car comes in damaged.
I hope yours makes it safe and sound. If it takes a little while to get it, so be it.

Ok..you guys aren't helping! Talking about damaged cars, pictures of your cars in the process, talking about the black hole!
I wouldn't trade this experience for the standard issue go to the dealership and buy a car routine...ED is still for me!
Just have to remember I'm a product of being raised in the United States...I WANT IT NOW!

Tracy: The worst part is when a member of the 'fest leaves out the interior color and trim in their signature.
I'm thinking of getting Monaco Blue on my next car and I have to finalize the decision in a couple of weeks....what did you get?
