ED with two names on Title: Do both have to sign for car?

I have read through the posts using the search function. I found that a father, a year back did an ED, but had his son pick up the car for him, because he was going to be in Germany for a Soccer Tournament. To do this, the father had the son's name added to the title or financial papers? Thus, he could pick up the car, and when the car came to the State, the son's name was taken off the title.

Well, I am in a similar situation. My nephew is a Doctoral Student at Berkeley, he is a DNA/Geneticist/ Scientist, working on possible cures/vacines for Cancer, AIDS, Diabetes, etc... Pretty awesome work! He is going to going to Germany in May and in June. I am able to do what the father did with his son. Can I have his name put on the Title with mine, then when the car comes to the US, I would take his name off?

The person who's name is on the PO has to sign for the car. Their name also has to be on the title, afaik.
