Ordered my ED e90 today!
I just ordered my e90 for Euopean Delivery Today. My planned pick-up date is June 23, 2006. I am a reletively new member of Bimmerfest.com but thanks to this forum, I have alot to be grateful for.
1. I paid a fair price over European Invoice....saved over $4500.00 on a car that stickered for $41,990.00. 325xi, Barrique Red, prem pkg, cold pkg, auto, nav, parking assist, Siuius Radio. I'm sure that I would have pd at least $2000 more if not for Bimmerfest.
2. I booked early as I did not know about World Cup Soccer in Germany until I read about it in this forum. I booked 2 nites in Munich at a rather high price but I at least found a hotel. It was not easy.
By the way, if you live in the Boston area, Paul McAbee at Foreign Motors West in Natick was great. It was the easiest car purchase that I ever made. I offered that price and his response was, "NO Problem." He wrote up the order and that was it! I do not know if there will be a problem with the 6/23 delivery date but he did not think that there would be.

Congrats! The wait will be excruciating, but when you see your new car for the first time, it will have been well worth the wait.

I planned my ED on July 10. It's time for me to start writing deposit check.

Hi, I ordered early due to issues raised in this forum. My ideal delivery date of 6/23 has not been confirmed yet. My sales person does not think that I have anything to worry about but until it's confirmed, I'm a bit nervous. I have non-refundable airline tickets, round trip from Boston to Zurich (I could not get tickets to Munich)using frequent flyer miles, arriving in Zurich on the morning of 6/22. We plan on taking a 7:00 AM train to munich, arriving at 11:30 AM on 6/23. That should give us plenty of time to get to the BMW del ctr to pick up the car. We plan to drop the car off in Zurich on 7/8, fly home 7/9. If I cannot take del by 6/26 at the latest, my vacation plans will be drastically changed.
If you are not planning to use FF miles, you could probably book a flight to Munich, but it would be expensive. Also, I was able to find a hotel room in Munich, but I had to pay 295 Euros/nite which is probably twice that I would normally pay.
My advice would be to order early and then make your airline reservations. If you cannot get a flight to MUnich, try to get one from a drop-off city and make your plans accordingly.
By the way, I gave the dealer a $1000.00 deposit and the car is to be paid for 14 days before delivery. BMW also gives you 60 days before the first pmt is due to ease the pain of making a payment or two before re-delivery of the car.

Congrats on your new car! I'm a new member to Bimmerfest community. One dumb question:
Do you have to pay destination charge and dealer preparation fees for ED?
