 Music in Europe

So I assume Satellite radio does not work in Europe (continental US only is what's printed in my literature)

And I don't really want to drag a lot of CD's to Europe.

I can't tell whether the 2006 550i Premium Audio Package Sound System will allow me to plug an MP3 player (iPod Mini) into it.

[1] Anyone know if there is an input jack somewhere?

[2] If not, then would an iPod FM transmitter be the best solution?
[3] Any recommendations for a good one?

[4] How about the quality and availability of regular radio stations in Europe in cities and rural areas?

Thanks for the any advice.

1) You need to have teh AUX input installed by a dealer, this can be done in Europe and shouldn't take long, but I have no idea what they would charge.

2) This is a great solution, and works quite easily

3) I have one by DLO- its all built into a cradle with a plastic 12v lighter plug. I put in in the back seat power adapter, and set the iPod to shuffle. Its great! I think I got it at Best Buy.

4) Radio in Europe is fine, many songs are American. I think you can also find some stations broadcast entirely in English.

There was a recent thread (started by me) about favorite radio stations in Germany. Perhaps consult that also.

The 330i has an audio input standard yet they don't put it in the 550? Wierd
Does the Audio system play MP3's - if it does - start burning MP3's - you need to carry 3 or 4 to get a swag of songs then

I brought my new iPod nano with me on my recent ED trip and plugged it into the aux input - it worked very well! Made some of those slow, heavy traffic parts of the trip more enjoyable. But I also found quite a few of FM radio stations that played familiar music. I also found it interesting to listen to some local French and German stations. Even though my language skills are not near good enough to understand them, it's interesting to hear the local music. Consider just exploring the radio dial and see what you find. After a while, I felt it was just part of the experience.
