 ED Delivery Damage Question

Ok, so I took redelivery of my car on Wednesday. In the morning I asked my CA if there was any damage, to which he said no. So I get there, and noticed the front bumper was scratched and there were water spots on the hood. They made an appointment for me yesterday, took my car in and fixed the bumper (along with some water spots left over from the cosmolene on the hood). Anyway I take my car home last night. I look this morning and now the hood is misaligned...it's raised about a centimeter on the passenger side. What the hell?? I left a message for my CA regarding this but I'm starting to get pissed.

My dealer is over an hour's drive from my house. Now I've driven 2 hours to take redelivery and back, and 5 hours more yesterday for dropping off, coming home, going to pick up, coming home again. Now to realign the hood, do I have to take it back to my purchasing dealer again? It's not fair to have to drive so much for their mistakes. Can I make them set something up with my local dealer to realign the hood?

I'm at a loss here and starting to get a tad irate at how they can't just fix something right the first time. Any suggestions...I want to make them pay my local dealership to take care of this or however else they want to do it...

First congrats on the car - sorry to hear about the problems however.

Even though it is their mistake, it is not unreasonable for them to ask you to come to them to fix it. It was your choice to purchase from a dealer that is distant rather than closer.

Regarding water spots, not sure what you mean. Your car did***180;t have cosmoline. Only new cars of course come with that.

Thanks J, I spoke to him and he's gonna call the repair guy who fixed the bumper to see what he did. He said he was not authorized to remove the hood or the bumper, so he says he has no idea how it got misaligned. Regardless, he should still fix it. I'll see what he says.

My car also was redelivered damaged. I was forced to return the car to the dealer that was 100 miles away for repairs and had to pay my own rental car for 4 days. BMWNA would not pay for local repairs although I was quoted the same amount they ended paying the selling dealer.

The risk of using a dealer not nearby. Just imagine if you had bought it from a dealer 1000 miles away.

Let us know what he says. I´m sure this will be a minor speedbump in the scheme of things.
