When ED is NOT worth it
My 330Ci lease is coming to an end and I was looking into doing an E90 ED, as I'd love to go to Europe in June and check out a MotoGP race and the Isle of Man TT as well. BMWFS will let me extend my lease month-to month (for up to 6) to accommodate me so all seems well, right? Here's the problem: I live in Los Angeles which means I'll be waiting 2+ months (I've already talked to a guy who has waited over 9 weeks so far) for my new car to come back here. Since I only have one car, this means I'll have to continue leasing my 330Ci while also paying for my new BMW as well. Yes, one payment is waived by BMW but I can easily find myself having already made TWO payments on the new car before receiving it... along with up to THREE payments for my existing 330Ci. Given all the extra time, hassle and $$$ I have to throw into it, I think it'd be better for me to just get my new car here and take a separate trip to Europe. Paying 2+ months depreciation on a car I'm not using (even cash buyers should take this into consideration, as your asset is depreciating as well) is the deal-breaker for me. | | Reply » When ED is NOT worth it | It's not about the money, it's about the experience.
If you apply purely financial terms, this may not be your cup of tea.
I approach it from the standpoint that picking up your car at the factory is a great way to have the car delivered.

It's the other parts of the European trip that I look forward to. Since I still plan on doing that, what would I really be missing out on? Driving my Bimmer in Europe? I find my track days to be much more memorable driving experiences personally.

Nobody is forcing you to buy a BMW this way. If it doesn't make financial sense to you, don't do it.

But again, diff strokes for diff folks.

To answer the ,,what would I really be missing out on" question, you can only read people's postings on their trips and decide.
