My wife and I are picking up our new 330i on the morning of 3/10. We are scheduled to take the Munich factory tour in the afternoon, and are trying to decide whether to leave Munich after the tour and drive a couple hours towards nice or to leave the next morning. A couple of questions:
1. What would be a good location to stop for the night if we leave on Friday afternoon? Is there going to be alot of traffic with people leaving the city to go to the mountains for the weekend?
2. If we leave early on Saturday morning what would be a good place to stop for lunch/sightseeing? Milan? Lake Como area? Or, are there any other small towns that would make for a nice 2-3 hour break?
Thanks,
dave

Munich - Lindau - Bregenz - Chur - San Bernadino - Lugano - Como - Milano - Genova - Ventimiglia - Nice (8 - 9 hours ride) Quote: | Originally Posted by davidrcope 2. Saturday morning will probably be a time with less traffic to get out of Munich. Bolzano, which is south of the Brenner Pass, but still very much in the Alps would make a nice lunch stop. The region of South Tyrol is very Germanic in appearance. Before driving out please reconfirm the weather forecast for whatever route you choose as it may be the determing factor. Unless you are in a hurry to get to Nice you may want to consider spending the night somewhere along the Ligurian Coast. The coastal views are breathtaking. I stayed in Rapallo just south of Genoa.

I don't think Venice was mentioned was it? This thread appears to be duplicated!
