I'm travelling Lufthansa on my March ED. The last time I did ED in 2002, security pulled me up for carrying my First Aid kit in my carry on, due to the scissors. They eventually let me take it.
Anyone with more recent experience? I'm planning on only taking carryon for this trip. I may end up just checking 1 of my carry ons if its still a problem.
TIA.

I shipped everything back. The scissors are a problem in hand luggage.

They just changed the rules regarding small scissors and blades, but in all honesty, do you reallly need the scissors? Just throw them away. (I'm assuming it is the first aid kit you are bringing back to America)

I'm thinking I'll need to use them to cut bandages etc.

The U.S. TSA did make some changes but the scissors, as far as I recall, were probably larger than the TSA will permit.

Just did a little search on Google and blades up to 4 inches are now allowed. "Scissors with a blade less than four inch long will be allowed, as will tools under seven inches long." According to MSNBC.
