How far ahead can you order?

This is my first post here, but I have been lurking for a while and reading all about ED. I think my wife and both want to do ED this coming May. My question is if I place my order for this month, will I be locked into the current money factor or will I have to pay the money factor that will be current then. Can you put your order in now to take advantage of the low money factors on leasing a 525 or 330 for later pickup, say may or june? My understanding is the first lease payment isn't due until 15 days before pickup. Is there any money you have to pay out of pocket now before pickup? Can you pick which day you want to pickup the car, or does BMW assign you a date based on when you order your vehicle. Thanks in advance!

You can order as early as your dealer allows you to.

As for MF, your approval is good for 60 days from the end of the current program. So, if you had gotten pre-approved for the January numbers, its good until end of March. BTW, the 525 lease deals are kaput according to a post in the Ask-A-Dealer section.

If leasing, you have to pay the first month, sec deposit, acquisition fee and reg fees. Some of these you can roll into the lease.

Pick a day for pick up and your dealer will confirm it with BMW NA.

Welcome to the board.

You will have to pay the money factor that's current when you sign your lease.

Your dealer may make you put down a deposit to order your car.

You can pick your date as long as BMW isn't booked for that date. If you are thinking of picking up in late May/June, don't forget that the world cup will make travel more difficult and BMW will be very busy during that time.

I am shooting for a ED pickup the second week of May.
My dealer will not start the process until 90 days before that which is next week or so.

I always do zero down leases so I am curious how this is going to work.
Also curious if my car will be an '06 or an '07 (with comfort seats incl in the new sport package). Oh well, questions nobody seems to know at this point.

If you are talking about a 5 series (525/530) it should be a 2007 because it will most likely be an April production. If you're not sure, make sure the dealer orders you a 2007.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! So if I understand correctly, the money factors are only good for 60 days? If I order a 525 this week, then the money factor is only good until end of march? Will I then have to pay the May money factor when I pick up? Do I sign for the lease when I put the order in, or when I actually pick up the car. Mullman - which dealer have you been working with in NC?
