Alright we are seriously considering the 550i for European Delivery and after reading through all the posts I have a few questions.
1. Would it still be possible to trade in a car to the dealer, and then purchase a car through European Delivery? 2. Where would I get the invoice prices for European Delivery cars? 3. Lastly, would it be possible to get a bmw rental car during the 6-8 weeks while the car is in transit?
EDIT: What I meant about the rental car was, would it possible to work a deal out with BMW to get a BMW rental car for the time?
And thanks for the help (Arnolds)

Thanks for all the help. | 1. Of course, its two separate deals. 2. Pricing is available in PDF form in the Ask A Dealer section of Bimmerfest. 3. Dunno, is there a local rent-a-car place in your area that rents BMW's?

Most "good" dealers will let you keep your current car until your new one is delivered.

Quote: | Most "good" dealers will let you keep your current car until your new one is delivered. | Really? You think the dealer will lock in a number for the trade-in, and honor that number 60 or 70 days later? What happens if you have an accident during this period?
My dealer would not do that last year when I did ED, but I did not push it. I am doing an ED next month, and if my dealer would do this, that would make things a lot easier.
Anyone else have experience with this?

On trade-ins, it is up to the dealer to decide the terms and conditions...nothing to do with ED. I have done both. The 1st ED, I keep my car until the ED car came here: we agreed to a price based on mileage and condition of the vehicle when I actually picked up the car (any "smart" dealer would void a deal if you were in an accident that effected the value of the car). On my last ED, I just traded the car in when I closed the deal. Can't say either was a better deal than the other (1st was on a Volvo, last was on a 6-series)
