I'm planning on taking delivery on a Monday and droping off the car on Monday 2 weeks later but thats a total of 15 days. The BMW ED site seems to say you must have insurance so it would require me to pay the 145$ for the 30 day coverage. I guess I could pick up the car on Tuesday but I'd prefer Monday. Any advice?

If I planned to do tourist things in Munich on that Monday anyway I'd pick the car up on Tuesday. But really $145 is not a lot of money when you consider the total cost of the trip and the car........
Are you planning on leaving for a road trip the minute you pick up the car?

Marcus is right and Monday (and Friday) are busiest days so if you can go Tuesday, so much the better.

Thanks for the advice. I looked at my tentative itinerary and even though I may have to compress things a little bit it's probably a better fit to pick it up Tuesday. I was hoping to visit some of the sights and such on the outskirts of Munich Monday after I got the car but I can probably figure out public transport if I still want to visit them.

$145 for 16-days of full coverage is an excellent deal. Try getting the coverage on a rental in Europe for 2-weeks. It'll be about $300 US.
