ED TRAVEL in June
I will be happy if anybody have any ideas on hotels, fees ,paris drop off, places to tour etc We are planning to fly to Munich ,pick up the car, visit family and friend in WEISBADEN and FRANKFURT respectively. Then we will go to SALTZBURG TO INNSBRUCK TO VENICE TO MILAN TO BERN/GENEVA TO PARIS AND BACK TO USA over 2 weeks with 3 teenagers. Do you think this is crazy? I know the world cup, soccer is the same time but our teenagers have conflicts. I am consdering 5501 A Silver grey, black interior,PACKAGES-cold weather and premium sound; OPTIONS- streptonic, front comfort seats, active steering, active cruise control, comfort access and power rearsunshades/manual. I am still "on the fence" about HUD AND NAV for now

If you can stay with family, this might help considerably.

Traffic wasn't bad yet and no problem getting hotels (We did have reservations two nights out of the 2 weeks). You're doing a lot of backtracking, so might be better to start with Salzburg then through Italy, Switzerland, Germany and on to Paris (We dropped off in Paris, no sweat. Stayed at the airport night before, dropped off and took the Air France bus into town and hotel the next day)

Travelling with not only yourself but 3 others is tricky - more stops and slower overall.
Also, given WM, June is not a good month to go at all unless you arrange your itinerary so as to NOT be in or within 200km of cities with any games.

Sure, the football games are going to cause some lodging problems in the larger cities, but not the smaller towns I prefer. I'm not a German native like you and have only made four trips over...but I did a lot of homework my year of working there. There are a lot of alternatives to traveling in Germany particularly and Europe in general. You need to back off a bit and quit telling people that your way is the only way to do it. This is written as constructive criticism, hope you take it as such. And I am looking forward to your article in the Roundel.
