Is there any way to "tap" cars in the ED pool? Yes i'd rather not wait for one to be produced.
In other words ED vehicles produced and for some reason or another were never picked up by retail customers?

That simple? OK i'll give it a shot. It'll probably have to be Monday thru Friday when the ED dept. is open since that's who the dealer will call themselves to confirm right?

Rather than try to see what they have in the pool, try to get your dealer to find a car that is currently being assembled between 150-155 production, but not produced not shipped (these normally have been assigned for shipment). This is a better shortcut because the center can try to trade for something that might be acceptable if necessary and give that car to ED. I've done it before and it works. The center needs to give the production number to ED on a revised pre-reservation form.
Cars in the "ED pool" don't stay around for long like they used to, so I wouldn't put any eggs in that basket. Plus, it also saves the folks at ED the hassle as they are swamped with calls.
