Production Status: "In body shop" ???

I have a 650IC that has gone into production.

The automated BMWNA production status says the car is "in the body shop" and scheduled for completion on October 7.

Does anyone now the production "stages"?

I also don't understand the 30 day wait between production completion and ED that I been told by the dealer. Some others have said that production and delivery must be different calendar months? Is that correct??

Congratulations, your car is at the beginning of the production process. Here are the status codes:

037 - Order is at BMW NA
087 - Production week assigned
097 - Order sent to BMW AG
111 - Order accepted at BMW AG
112 - Order scheduled for production (last opportunity to make changes)
150 - Production started
151 - Body shop started
152 - Paint shop started
153 - Assembly started
155 - Production completed
160 - Released to distribution
180 - Waiting for export dispatch
193 - Arrived at port of exit
194 - Selected for shipment
195 - Shipped from port of exit
196 - Shipment arrival - ETA

Hope this helps.

Also, your dealer is not quite right about the 30 day wait between production completion and ED. As I've said before, the rules (which have exceptions) are that the car should be produced in the month preceding the delivery. This is basically so they have enough time to set up the temporary registration in Germany.

Besides the dealer telling you, how do you know what status your car is in? The order tracking in Owners Circle doesn't give those detailed statuses. I am just at "scheduled for production".
