 ED Itinerary

Hi Everyone,

I'm finalizing my ED order this week, and am now looking to put together my itinerary and travel plans. Here is my initial plan (which involves a lot of driving to see as much as possible):

Arrive in Munich for pickup, stay 2 days (shooting for end of March)
Drive to Milan for a day
Drive to Geneva for a day
Drive to Paris for 2 days
Drive to Amsterdam for 2 days, drop off and fly home

None of the drives are over 5 hours (I don't think) - I'm probably being a little aggressive with the distance traveled in the short timeframe, but again I've never been there and would like to see as much as possible within a week to 9 days. Since I've never been there, I only know of the major metropolitan areas that I've heard about. If you guys could tell me if these cities are worth visiting, or if there are other, more quaint cities, routes that I would enjoy more, please feel free to respond.

Thanks for any help, and I'll certain use any suggestions to finalize my plans.

As you'll undoubtedly hear from others here as well, it is probably a mistake to attempt so many cities which are literally all over the map.

I think you need to read up on the cities you want and pick 2 or 3.

You won't see anything of the cities you haven't yet seen if you are in the car all the time.

You would also do best going in either one direction towards drop-off or a circle (such as starting in Munich and ending up in Munich).

Jonathon is right...add a few hours to those 5 you mentioned. If you drop Italy it would be do-able. Traffic slows down outside of Germany big time and is enforced.

I would save Italy for another trip. Just going through the mountains to spend a night in Milan isn't worth it. (it's rather boring) There will be plenty of great scenery and driving between Munich and Geneve so I would think you could spend a night along the way and shorten your drive-a-thon a bit.
