Are ED cars shipped with new U.S. sale cars?

Or are they shipped independently?

Independently

EDIT: Ok, I'm not quite right- See Jspira's comments below

Independently.
Actually, no.

Using Munich as an example, most new cars go by rail to Bremerhaven. Some do go by truck and go on the same truck as POVs.

Once the cars get to Bremerhaven, POVs (privately owned vehicles, i.e. our cars) have priority for boarding if there is limited space (priority over a new car).

They are all loaded onto the vessel the same way by stevedores and also offloading is the same.

More detail in my upcoming article in the Roundel (either March or April issue).

Is it always that way? What if you drop off in another city that doesn't go back through Munich- for example London?

Also, afaik, the POV's aren't treated with any protective coatings or suspension blocks, am I right on that?

My point of reference was Munich and the Original Poster seemed more concerned with shipping as opposed to how to get to port. So I was focusing more on ,,yes, from the port (Bremerhaven) they are co-mingled and treated the same".

From London, the car would join its brethren on the same ship that might have left from Bremerhaven, which stops in Southampton.

Re the coating and blocks, that is done before the port (the cars come out of the factory in this manner) so I ignored that. They do not put shipping blocks on at the port as far as I know.
