Hello To All,
I just purchase my ticket on a direct Lufthansa flight from JFK->Munich and back on an Airbus 300. Economy Class (Bus. class cost $6,320) times that by 2 and I might as well should have just bought a civic to go with my 325i...did not even want to know what 1st class cost....
In any case the 2 for 1 deal is not that great...It came out to $1,020 for 2 people....but they had a better deal it is called....
"Single Promotion- Class -S"
Breakdown:
Fare: USD 518.00
Taxes and fees, additional charges: USD 392.82
Total: USD 910.82 (This is the total for 2 people)
I thought this was a very good deal.....this is for Last Week in Feb to 1st week in March...

If you are travelling in J, the second ticket is either free or just 25% of the first fare. So you couldnt have bought a new Civic. A five year old one maybe.

Then, there are airport fees which are different depending on which airport you use. The airlines might tack on a fuel surcharge but that's usually included in the airfare.

LH is notorious for very high taxes and fees. US airlines are typically better than LH.

From the recommendations of mainly users of this board and others that I know who have flown to or around Germany on Lufthansa say that it is the best company to use....on top of that the deals on Orbitz, expedia, cheaptickets...etc....are way more expensive even for this time frame.....even Lufthansa is more expensive I had to call the 2 for 1 deal number to get these rates.....In regard to having 75% off for the 2nd ticket for bus. class there are still taxes involved so you end up spending about 9-10K for 2 people....a Brand New 2005 Civic VP Invoice I think is around 13K plus they have 1.5K fact. to dealer cash that is not advert. anywhere. so for another 2k I could potentially have a brand new civic or Bus. class flight to Munich...hmmmm.....
-In any case If I was getting a 760Li thats another story....but I am just an avg. Joe....so economy class it is.....
