What is the cheapest way to do an ED?

Im new to this ED thread, but after getting my 325i 4 months ago, I thought maybe ED would have been the best way to get my bimmer?

For my next time around, I like to ask, and sorry if this was asked before but:

Coming for mid-atlantic East Coast, What is the best-cheapest way for me to do an ED travel-pickup, in terms of Air-fare, land-fare, meals, and hotel?

anyone!?

Do it before or after the summer high season.

1. If you have AA miles they have award to Europe for 40KMiles in the winter/spring season. AA flies to FRA so you would need to take a train to MUC. Otherwise you can find return tickets to Munich for about $450-500 with travel dates up to March end

2. You can use priceline.com to get a room for $60-70.

3. You need to fly out on a Saturday, stay overnight in a hotel on Sunday and then pick up, drop off and fly back on Monday.

Total Cost: $450 (air) + $70 (hotel)+ $100 (local travel) + $50 (food) ~ $700.

Make sure you are a BMW CCA member to recover most of these costs.

During the peak season, the LH 2 for 1 deal is quite good if you are travelling with some one or can coordinate your schedule with another fester so that you can split the costs with him/her. During the off season LH 2 for 1 is not good.

Actually - you can use AA miles to fly direct to Munich. We flew over on AerLingus through Dublin for only 40,000 miles, as they are a One World partner. Also - particularly good for an ED trip, there is no additional milage charge to fly into one city and out from another. We returned from Paris on British Air, connecting to American in London.

I think American has the best frequent flier program. The 40,000 mile round trip award in off season is great - everyone else charges 60,000. Also, you can book flights on any of the One World partner airlines - and you don't have to fly the same airline for all the flight segments.

I just ordered tickets through Lufthansa for $910 for 2people about $455 per person non stop...the 2 for 1 deal was about $100 more.... go figure....In any case I am going last week of Feb ang coming back first week of march....

Good luck !!!

Only difference in prices is the air fare. Doesn't matter what part of the US you're from, the hotel, food, etc are the same for everyone.

As others have said Spring, Sept-Oct are probably the best deals.
