Hello To All,

Just starting to prep for my ED trip (last week of Feb, 2006)

Does the following Itinerary make sense?
-Is the timeline too aggressive?
-Are All of the stops necessary (Worth it) or would you eliminate some of them? Which ones?

Whew!!! I'm exhausted just reading this.

It sounds like a great trip...but I would consider dropping Madrid unless you have a compelling reason to go there. Some of your drives are really long..(12 and 13 hours??) can you re-work the itinerary to visit places that are closer together? 6 hours in a car when you're on a European vacation is a REALLY long time.

Too aggressive...?

I don't know about that word to describe it. But I would cut out Spain, or re-arrange the whole trip if Spain is the important part.

I've seen some bad itineraries on this board, and this one is right up amongst the top ones in that category! With all the detail you supplied, I assume you looked at a map, doesn't that loooong stretch to the left and then back.... look a bit out of place.

In switzerland try to cut Zurich .... Geneva & Lucerne will be good choice.
i am not sure about other places. How many total kms or miles are you planning to drive ?
Is it a lease or you are buying the car ?

Couldn't you have squeezed a run to Iceland in that itinerary?

Remember, a computer's estimate of 13 hours of driving assumes no traffic. If you actually want to see any of these places you should probably cut out about half of them.

Agree. I think the biggest mistake anyone makes is packing in too much driving. Cut spain or italy. spend more time in the places you do go and less time driving. It 's not like you can't get to Rome or Madrid by plane on another trip.

Also, why circle back to Munich? I would drop off in Spain or Rome, or Nice France.
