Have been playing with Google Earth Application this afternoon as I'm starting to prepare for my January 24th ED pickup. Will be traveling to Munich then meeting friends in Prague where we'll hang out before going to Budapest and then back to Munich. Anyway how many have played with Google Earth? It's amazing to be able to fly around Europe and see where I'm going. There are a tremendous amount of layers there with info for hotels, gas stations, roads, railroads, etc.
There is also a huge community that makes their own layers that you can download.
I think it would be awesome to do a ED layer that contains the following info. Sites for BMW factories, the ED pickup offices, and anything else. We need the Long. and Lat. of each place of interest anyone game to help make this a reality?

Just to make sure people know....
Google Earth is a PC application that you can download from google here...http://earth.google.com/
It's an entirely different experience than the google maps we've gotten used to.
The basic version is free and if you spend $20.00 you get the deluxe version that allow you to plug a GPS device into it. It basically turns your laptop into a killer Nav system. The Pro version is $400.00 and targeted at business such as Real Estate etc.
there is an OS X version coming for Mac users.

Interesting stuff about using Google Earth as a NAV system. What kind of GPS device do I plug in? It says the compatibality is verified only with Garmin and Magellan. Do these companies have stand along products which provide the GPS coordinates to the computer and nothing else?
Also how much can information can you download if you are not going to be online?
