finally its my turn! leaving tommarrow!

first off, i just cant say enough "thanks you's" for this ED forum. i stumbbled on this forum a while back when i was deciding between the g35, tl, (pre release) IS350, and the e90. the ED option just sealed the deal for me and now finally im leaving for munich on the 19th! (but technically im levaing tom because ill be staying at a hotel near LAX so i dont have to deal with the traffic). well here's my initiary:

-fly into Munich on the 20th at 10:55 am
-ED pick up on the 21st (around 10ish...for the 3 other guys doing pick up this day)
-drop off at harms the same day (i know, i know...but i have SP and it'll be snowing! )
-take a train for Bern, Switzerland on the 22nd
-take an overnight train from Bern to Rome from the 23rd to 24th
- Spend Christmas at the Vatican (hopefully the musems will be open)
- stay in Rome till the 26 then off to Florence
- Florence until the 28th when i fly back to the US

So what do you guys think? ive booked most the hotels already through priceline (staying at the marriot in munich) i still need hotles in florence...but to be honest im really kind of nervous about this trip...ill be going w/ my girlfriend so i want this trip to go smoothly as possible. i keep on hearing horror stories about gypsies and now im all paranoid about them. i read the other last min. thread so i fixed my ATM card to only have 4-digit PIN. returned my int'l plug set for a one with a electrical current converter... umm made an extra note to sign the bimmerfest log which is in a drawer next to the coffee machine so yeah im a bit overwhelmed... this will be our first trip to Europe also so im planning doing all the touristy things. even going to the Hofbrauhous (its full of tourists but hey im a tourist also )

any tips, advise, restaurant/food recomendations, sight recomendations will be greatly appriciated. thanks again.

for the other three people with the 21st pick up date...hey wanna get a bier?

We leave out of Tampa on the 19th and will stay at the Hilton City on the 20th for a (hopefully) 10AM pick-up on the 21st. We want to do the Christmas market on the 20th but I don't know where we could meet, e-mail me with your least name (asandrs@hotmail.com) and we could try and stop by or call the Marriott. If the weather is OK we intend to head off to Italy - one night Bolzano, 2 Milan, 2 Florence, 2 Venice then back to Munich on the 28th - so we should be in Florence just before you. If the weather is bad I don't know what we'll do. We're geting a 325xiT with sport and all the previous posts regarding AWD and sport have frazzled my brain - basically if the temp is above freezing and it's not snowing we're going for it - if the drive over the Alps has scared me we'll drop off in Venice and get the train back. Hope to see you - and the other 21st pick-ups. Andy Saunders.

Have a very nice trip and great X-mas!
For hotels and restaurant recommendation get Rick Staves (http://www.ricksteves.com) book - "Italy 2005".
We never get disappointed with his recommendation. Good luck.
