Hello All.
I am considering the E/D as a viable alternative to purchasing in the states. Just wondering how much most of you paid for airfare and how cheap you were able to fly over to Munich (from the East Coast). I probably wouldn't spend any more than a couple of days due to $$ and time constraints, but would love to opportunity to visit Germany/Austria and buy a BMW at the same time!
I was reading on another forum something about 2 for 1 on Lufthansa. . anybody aware of this. . already expired??
Thanks for the help. .

When we did our ED trip in October the 2 for 1 Lufthansa deal was available. This deal was not at a discounted rate and many found better deals by searching the net. We used frequent flyer miles and did not use the Lufthansa deal either. I was checking the BMWUSA website and don't see the Lufthansa deal except in the Conde Nast Tour section. I don't know if the deal is available anymore without doing the tour (which is very expensive.) Jspira? Me530? Great deals for hotels can also be found by searching the net. Also, you can check out Rick Steves travel guides for nice hotels at very good rates. Good luck with your plans if you decide to go. I'm sure you won't regret it. It's a wonderful experience! Oh, and by the way, Welcome to the Fest!

Cheapest airfares are typically via LHR (Heathrow). There is a lot of capacity in coach in the US-LHR routes, since there are a lot of folks like Jonathan who like to travel up-front. I have heard that buying the Lufthansa flights codeshared as United can also be cheaper (or is it the other way around?) Beewang had a thread on that.
