I have an ED scheduled for Jan25th and was wondering if I fly into Munich on the 24th evening, will I be able to complete everything, including dropoff at Munich, and catch an evening flight out of Munich.

yes its possible, i was going to do this until i saw that a flight on the same day is in the thousands of dollars...

It seems possible, but sure seems like a waste to have your new car in Europe and not take any more time to drive it than from the delivery center to drop off.

I would have loved to done that, but I don't think the weather is going to coperate in January. So I am going to leave that till the next ED which I will make sure is in late summer or fall.
I have done the Euro trip so don't really want to be in Europe in winter. Hate the cold!

Off course it is possible.. But if you have not done it before take your car for 1 hour drive on Autobahn.. Driving on excellent german freeway is by far top experience I had from my ED trip.
You can save some time if you know about the car functions before arriving there. So, you don't ask too many questions to delivery guy. Drive from drop off location to airport is approx 20 minutes. If you are boarding a direct flight to US from munich, you need to go through 2 security checks and immigration. That could take 1/2 hour total. Immigration is much faster than in US (specially LA/SFO). Buying any souvenir (chocolate etc) on airport takes time as everywhere they would check your passport and boarding pass. So time accordingly.
And don't forget to remove everything from trunk etc. :-)
