Hey - need some advice/feedback. Leaving on Saturday for 11/21 pickup It looks like we will be able to go to Paris after all - seems like its calming down there! Question is should I drop off car in Paris on Friday before going into the city as we are currently planning, or should I return to Frankfurt (closer to where we will be than Munich) and fly/train to Paris. My biggest concern is redelivery time. Is Frankfurt dropoff likely to result in a quicker redelivery? Thanks again for eveyone's advice. Its been invaluable in making this all happen smoothly! |

Paris absolutely SUCKS!!! for redelivery time. Don't do it. Go check out the "Anyone on Bellona" thread for a still unfolding sorry and sordid saga

I kinda disagree. We dropped off in Paris and it was 6 weeks to the day for re-delivery...and I'm in KC, as far as you can get from a port. I've said before and will say it again, the closer you are to an ocean in Europe the sooner your car will get on a boat. But then it could get stuck at VPC...so just buy beer and relax...it will come.

The difference in time from a Munich or Paris dropoff to redelivery would probably be one week or less, that should not alter your plans IMO. I would be more concerned about traveling between Munich and Paris. The train takes a long time (8 hrs IIRC). So we did the Paris/Munich trip by air. $800+ U.S for two and that was with booking it in Paris. If you book it Stateside, it'll cost you more ($900 to $1,000). For some reason this is not a competitive route and is very expensive. This travel was done in early Sept of this year.
