Driving through my local dealer's(who shall remain anonymous) lot today revealed this X3 in a little bit of a bind. Note the window sticker...
It's going to take a lot of work to make this X3 saleable. Any ideas or thoughts?
Sorry for the poor quality photo as I was using my camera phone.

Whats wrong? Mud does not appear to be over the bottom of the door sill, so probably only has to be hosed down.

As long as they wash it before its sold, and nothing has leaked inside, it should be fine.
The X3 has a fording capability of 19.7". I've driven it through a flooded street that was a foot deep (at walking speed of course). Didn't even give it a second thought.

So if you submerge it, you should change the diff fluid immediately.
Although the engine may keep running at 19.7", I would never take an X3 in anything more than 10 inches or so (whatever the height of the transfer case would become submerged at). If you do, you'll get water in the diff.

I find it incomprehensible that the dealer, my dealer no less, would allow this to happen. To be fair, they do have construction going on and have been moving vehicles all over the lot. However, I don't see that as a valid excuse to take someone's new car and get it stuck in the 16" of mud! I'd be pissed as hell if that were my car. Seeing as how this vehicle has been on the lot for a couple of months, I doubt the car is sold yet. So, some unsuspecting buyer will come along and buy the car and have no idea what it went through. I guarantee that the dealer will be unable to get all of the mud out of all the nooks and crevices!
Hopefully the dealer will do the right thing and make this car a demo.

Somehow me thinks it's destined for loaner car detail.
