Destination: Dürnstein, via Mondsee, Ybbs, und Krems
Hallo Freunde
Today was a ca. 550 km roundtrip to Dürnstein.
Dürnstein is where Richard Löwenherz was held captive after having been captured in Eedberg by the Mayor of Vienna. Specifically, he was held in a huge fortress on a hill high above the village.
His loyal troubadour, Blondel de Neale, found him (apocrophally it is presumed) by wandering around Europe singing Richard´s favorite ballads outside every casetle, until a response came.
I loved hiking up to the Fortress when I was little. It was too cold and too late in the day when I got there, but Dürnstein hasn´t changed much although several major buildings are being restored.
Here are photos en route, more later.

You seem to be having excellent luck with the weather as well. And as I said before, incredible photos. For your next book on photograpy?

Great pictures! The car looks wonderful. The scenery is breathtaking. I need to take some pointers from you to visit some beautiful places a few hours from Munich. During our Ed on Dec 19th unfortunately we will be there only a day. Something close by so we can experience the Autobahn as well as get some nice sites in.
Cheers- ad2005
