  Wholesale or MSRP???

 Wholesale or MSRP???

OK guys sorry for the new thread, but I felt I needed to.
After reading TONS of threads and posts that talked about working your numbers for ED from the ED WHOLESALE price and not the retail price, I made a few calls.
Having talked to a couple of dealers, it seems they keep working off the ED retail price, instead of the ED WHOLESALE price.
Is it just that I'm crazy or I havent found the right dealer yet.

Hey...they're in the profit business so don't blame them for trying. You need to figure out how much over ED wholesale you're willing to pay and then tell the dealer(s) in your area. Eventually you'll strike a deal. But insist with them that you want to pay $XXX over ED wholesale......they'll get it eventually. So no, you're not crazy. Don't be afraid to shop around...even if the delaer is a long drive away....all you have to do beforehand is paperwork (via the mail) and then pick up the car when it arrives. If you can save enough money it might be worth a one way drive to a dealer far away when you car comes back from Germany. I only mention this because many members here don't have dealerships nearby that are willing to negotiate.

By the way, if you're financing or leasing make sure you negotiate the interest rate or money factor and any other misc fees BEFORE you shake hands on the deal. Have them write out all of the costs and % rates before you hand them a check. Many have gotten a great low price only to find out that the dealer was making back a lot of profit by jacking up the money factor or padding the deal with extra (bogus) fees. Good luck!

I'm probably going to be crazy by the end of all this..LOL
thanks for getting back to me. while I have your attention, regarding the options, do I use the retail price for them, or the wholesale price for them also???
thanks again.

Buying a car is a negotiated deal - i.e. you get what you negotiate. You also should consider whether you're looking for 'the absolute best price' or if other factors matter to you.

You should pay XXXX over wholesale on the MSRP of the car and you should pay wholesale on the options.

The options do not have a special ED lower price...just the normal US wholesale and retail price.
