 The real report

It's now 6.5 h after delivery. Here come some pictures.

Let me just go over the day.

We arrived around 11:45 thanks to the JFK delays compounded by the Munich fog delays. My meetings with the BMW people were to start at 11 (yes, that was optimistic of them).

So Rich, Jill and I got there (danke to BMW for the courtesy of a pick-up) and we were pretty much the only customers there. Headed to the cafe, where they were very generous with the take-aways. I spent time meeting with Herrn Roller (Herr Roller is the director of delivery for Germany) (we had a blast, he's Austrian, as am I and we had some fun at the Germans expense ). Then Bernd did the delivery for Rich and Jill. Their car is awesome - red is a hot color in the E90.

I got to see my car for a few seconds and Herr Roller sped off in a 130i (that is one fast car) to BMW Welt. Spent about two hours there with a very comprehensive briefing on their plans (which I'll be writing about in the Roundel, along with everything else). Then we went to the Fernsehturm to try to get some pictures of the construction site - hampered a bit by the fog.

Around 17:00, Herr Roller and I headed back for my delivery. We were the only two there. Too dark for many pictures but I had a blast driving back to the hotel, taking a few detours.

I am really really really (did I say really) psyched about the car. The wood (poplar) is awesome - really brights up (slightly) the interior compared to walnut. It's just a tad lighter - great grain pattern.

The car has all of the stuff such as MP3, RDS, etc., programming of all the functions. I even have a secret function I cannot disclose that U.S. cars shouldn't have.

One problem: Bee, the DVD is toast. We spent 10 minutes getting it OUT of the drive.

Fortunately, you sent a backup! Thanks for that.

OK. Let me put up a few pictures below and go to sleep. Rich and Jill are coming over at 09:30 for breakfast and then we head to the Brennerpaß.

Gute nacht and thanks to everyone here for your support.

OK - pictures too big and no resizing sw here HELP!!!
