I did the ED alone from California to Atlanta, GA then to Munich, Germany. I picked up the car myself. After the pick up in Munich, Germany I stayed by myself in a hotel. Then drove to Switzerland where I have family. Once I was in Switzerland, I was always with my cousins/uncle/aunts.
I met some people in Germany and it was interesting, but it's so much more exciting when you're with someone whether it be your good friends or family.
If you're going by yourself for the entire trip, I think you'll find it boring if you're not able to share the experience with someone.
I suggest going with someone as you'll enjoy the trip more.

Do go alone ask friend or some one in family to go with you. I am having friend coming along with me.
