Things To Do When Dropping Off

Jonathan posted just ahead of me. As he said, will be meeting him before our flight tonight, and then traveling with him to our pickup. It's nice to have an ED veteran to show us the ropes.

One question for Jonathan or any other veteran: When we dropoff, I know I can remove one of the license plates as a keepsake - do I take the front or rear? Also, I've heard to take the First Aid Kit and Warning Triangle as they're not normally included on cars for the US and I can't depend on them being left in the car if I don't take them. Any other suggestions for things to do?

Remove the front plate, and take the screws with you (so you can use them at home and if you put them back in it will dig into the bumper). Take the first aid kit out, the warning triangle and the mounts to be safe (the mounts are fairly simple, twist them and they fall out if I remember correctly) Pack the first aid kit in your checked luggage b/c of the scissors. TAKE PICTURES!! Take a bunch of pictures of the underside of the front bumper and the car at various angles, just for your peace of mind. Oh and take out the NAV DVD if you have one, b/c you won't get it back, cd's also fall into this category! Otherwise that is about it. Enjoy the trip and best of luck!

I had a full magazine of CD's that I left on my 545 back in March. They arrived safely with the car. However, they were copies of originals so I didn't much care if they disappeared.

If not checking luggage (hint hint), give scissors to someone at hotel or something like that.
