Finally - 24 hours to liftoff!

Finally! I'm heading off to Munich in 24 hours to pickup my baby on Monday - can't wait to see and drive her!

Unfortunately, I'm taking the long route, SEA -> CHI -> LHR -> MUC, but that was required in order for me to use my airline miles. Well worth it since I'll be flying comfortably - time to cash in on all those trips for work.

I'm not really sure I'm ready and don't have hotels for about half of the trip but I enjoy flying by the seat of my pants (so to speak) and want to have a somewhat flexible schedule to allow for unforseen detours.

I may not make it back to Dingolfing in time for the tour on Friday unless someone can convince me that would be the biggest mistake of my life (second only to waiting this long to buy a BMW in the first place).

Can someone confirm for me, does Rolf only take cash? I was hoping to use an ATM once in Munich to get my Euros but would like to understand if I need cash for Rolf (suppose I could ask him to drive me by an ATM).

I'll do my best to post updates and pics as near to real-time as possible. Thanks everyone for all of the advice, the board has been a great help!

Have a great time, I bet the 550 is going to ROCK! Dingolfing is totally worth it, but you need something to do on your next ED so missing it this time won't be the end of the world.

I can't confirm that Rolf 'only' takes cash, but I saw no indication that he is set up to take anything else. It's easy enough to have US $ exchanged for Euro at any of the airports you will be going through. I did more of a 'seat of the pants' trip too, and I am glad I did it that way. Have a great time and we'll look forward to those real-time pics
