 Possibly doing ED.

I'm really thinking about doing Euro Delivery, an after reading a bunch of threads, some helpful, some not, I think I understand it all, and am ready to dive in. Now from my understanding I can use the wholesale prices to figure out the price of the car. Right?

2006 325i with (prem, sport, cold, xen, nav, comfort, sat prep) an tax comes to $38,080.00 (including a dealer profit of $1,000.00). Lets just say $38,000.00 even.
Is this reasonable?

NOTE: I already have an offer for a non-ED car loaded up the same way for about $40,707.00 incl. tax and tags. Thus the ED car would be saving me about $2,707.00.
Guess I just thought I'd be saving more by doing ED, since I've read so many posts saying how they saved 4-5 grand. Any thoughts?

Granted comparing ED price to U.S. MSRP (w/tax $42,818.70) I'd be saving $4,818.70.

Also quick question, I've heard tons of things about this MACO, DOC fee, and training fees.
By doing ED am I subject to any of these?

I can not speak to the pricing as I think we're not supposed to talk about prices on the message board and only through PM.

I can answer the other question about MACO, etc.

I did not pay MACO and training fees. I did however pay $45 for document fee.

The amount of savings for ED goes higher as you go up the model line. For a 325, its almost a wash.

I don't think you should view doing ED as way to save money. While your outright expense for purchasing the car is lower the overall expense may be higher though that includes a trip to Europe to drive your own car. That is priceless. So who cares if in the end I did not save any money (actually spent more), those memories of me and my car in Munich, the Alps, Venice, Florence, etc., cannot be bought with any kind of money.

Very true, but I actaully get some extra gadgets like a new digital camera and a vacation out of the money that would have gone to a US delivered car.

As BMW puts it - the savings are $2150 on a 325 if you do European delivery. The rest is how you negotiate. However, from what I have seen, dealers tend to be more willing to negotiate (lower their profit) since all they need to do is complete the paperwork.
