To answer the two "questions" your write up had:
1.) U-Bahn tickets in München and most other European cities must be validated upon entry (there is a validator as you walk from the ticket kiosk to the train). Without validation, it is as if you did not buy them (because they are not cancelled).
2.) The Vignette is not a discount plan. It IS the toll for the use of the Autobahn in Austria.

AMAZING WRITEUP!
If Bimmerfest gave awards for the best writeup I have to think it would win in a walk.
Since I'm ED'ing in ten days with an Electric Red car it was easy for me to place myself in those pictures.
