I am planning on using an Italian drop off. I know there have been comments regarding having someone drive your car back to Germany but the logistics of our trip really makes sense to have an Italian drop off. Some have said that the drivers are professional and the transfer was not a problem.
My question is scheduling and location pickup points. I will be in Rome for the transfer. Will the driver come to my hotel? Any flexibility on time? How is this all scheduled?

Don't do it!! They will drive it like an Italian and then throw their girl in the back and take her for a spin!!
Just kidding. With all seriousness, I do make an effort to plan my trip as to not drop it in Italy. I don't care for the fact that the car is driven to a drop area as appposed to transported on a truck.
I'm sure there are many that have dropped in Italy without any problems, it's just not my preferance.

You, guys, scare me. So, if I decide drop off my car in Madrid after 12 -14 days travel - I can not do that because my registration and insurance will be expired at this point (14 day from day of pick up). And some body will be driven my car, MY NEW CAR!!!! To Munich? Please help me with this one - or I have to change all my plans
