 Sorry another dumb question

OK tried searching and didn't see it addressed.

Sorry for dumb question.

But while you're waiting for them to get your car ready at the Delivery Center, will they let you go out to the parking lot and admire all the other cars soon to be delivered?

I was curious, since you need to go through a Guard Shack at the gates.

There is a parking lot right across from the door with the sign "European Delivery" on front and inside the gated area.

I wonder when are they going to fix that door bell on the gate? I've seen pictures since last year with the sign that the door bell doesn't work.

Sorry back to the answer:

You can easily walk around this area when you are inside the gated area waiting for your car. When I was there, most of the cars in the parking lot (holds about 40 cars) did not have anything special like a M5 or M3. They had nice several nice 3 series and 5 series, X3's but that was it. I think I saw one 7 series out of the 40 cars. I went roaming around and no one seemed to care. On the day I was there, they did have a M5 parked near the gas filling station.

If I was to do ED again, I would do the following:

a) Tell taxi driver to take you to the entrance where security guy is at the entrance to drive you inside the European Delivery area. The security will look at your letter and tell the taxi driver to go ahead and drive all the way inside.

b) Check in and let them know you're there (look for European Delivery sign inside).

c) Walk upstairs, give free food ticket to hostess and get free breakfast/lunch. Don't forget the sign in book.

d) Go back outside and check out the cars on the lot. Take some pictures if needed.

e) Wait for delivery of car. Walk around the parking area and take some pics of the cars there.

f) When your name is called, they will go over the paperwork with you. Then you go to your car in the delivery area. Tell your delivery person to program the addresses you will be at in the navigation system if you have Navi. Go over any questions you have. Figure out how to use basic things with the car. Take some pics of your car in delivery area.

g) Tell the delivery person to drive your car out of the garage. You don't want to put dents in your car with only a mile on your car.

h) When the car is outside, take some more pics of your car with the European Delivery sign.

i) When leaving, give the proper paperwork to the security guy at exit. Don't drive off without giving him the paperwork. The police might come after if you run.

j) Enjoy trip.

Sorry it is long.

I would add
b-1.) Bring in luggage and give to receptionist

Last time, I was a bit too tired to appreciate the entire experience - despite a nice flight and comfy bed on board, I didn't sleep. I'm hoping to get a much better night's sleep this time (plan: wake up extra early so I am tired very) so I can much more fully appreciate everything.

Jspira brought up a good point and something I forgot. They have shopping carts for luggages (ones you find at airports) at the entrance which you can use to put your luggage on. Then you roll the shopping cart in and leave it near the receptionist.

Ok good to know about the luggage carts. I was a little curious about it and considering leaving my luggage at the hotel and then going back to get it after I take delivery.
