If you aare talking about the leather key fob's, I've never seen those here in the US. Everybody seems to use one of the the BMW key rings, chains, etc., that are offered on the BMWOnline website.
I use the one which is a steel cable through the Roundel style. It does knock against the steering column housing occassionally but it's not a big deal.

Works great, doesn't make any noise and it protects the key. I tried using this same leather cover with the new "cartridge" keys (for the push button start cars) but they are too big.
