When to book flights for JAN ED

Lufthansa still doesn't have any specials for people taking delivery in Jan. Are there others here that are doing Jan ED as well - when do you plan to buy the tix??

Start looking now. But don't buy the first fare you find unless it is good. Fares are always changing (even day to day). The earlier you start looking, the better the odds of finding a really cheap fare, and the better the availability. You can try these online consolidators for good fares. Just keep in mind that with most of these, once you buy the tickets, they are bought for good. No refunds and no changing of flights without expensive penalties.

We did ED this past Jan and didn't use Lufthansa two free tickets and booked through Orbitz the reason being we could fly out of Newark and not NY and pick the flight we wanted. If we were to fly out of NY we would have to pay for transportation to and from NY and only fly on certain days. After you pay all the taxes and other fees using Lufthansa it only cost us around $100 more going through Orbitz. We booked our flight in early Nov.Hope this information helps.
cheers

Lufthansa deal was not that great after I shopped around on my May 2005 trip.

I met my dad in Munich and Lufthansa 's deal was $1400 from L.A and I found a single ticket on Lufthansa for $700 through the internet.

I called BMW E.D and asked them why are they advertising that this is 2 for 1 if the 1 is $700? they agreed and told me that many have expressed the same point and that they would bring it up to Lufthansa. If you are travelling in odd numbers 1,3,5 this deal is not for you anyway.

I say shop for a better deal on the internet and never mind the promotion.
During January you should have very low fares as it is low season
