Back from M3 ED. The trip was great. Don't think I will ever consider getting a new car any other way! We were very lucky with weather. It had been raining up to the night before our arrival, but we had beautiful weather the whole time.
My biggest concerns before the trip were if going "which way looks best" without advance reservations was a mistake and also concern about safe parking, etc. Neither proved to be any problem at all. We only had a reservation for Munich the night before pickup. Found excellent accomodations easily (we stayed with relatives in Paris) and the only time we parked in an open lot was on the hotel lot with 20 Z8s in Switzerland. (Did not have to pay extra for any parking anywhere)
I plan to put up a narrative on seperate website and will give link to it on Bimmerfest, but for now some photos:
1. First view at pickup facility. 2. Like the Cinnamon interior. 3. Loading Beewang's nav data. 4. The map of our route, Munich - Munich -- 2871 Miles. 5. First open road acceleration grin.

Horns are called a trompe and are a kind of cross between a bugle and a french horn. 4. Our hostess for a viewing of upscale home in Normandy designed by my daughter who is an architect with offices in Paris. 5. View from deck of house, overlooking Normandy countryside.
