We spend first two nights at Salzburg. The Sound Of Music tour was nice. I never saw the movie myself. They show you some nice places outside town. The rest of the city can be seen in half a day. On our last night, we stumbled on some kind of BioFest on the central square. They had many all natural beers, wines, and sprits to try. I did my best to support local economy. Barely survived.
The next day we went to Burchesgarden. If you like mountains and lakes don’t forgo this part of Germany. After the hike and a lunch of freshly caught trout, we headed to Fussen to see the castles. I programmed the Nav to give us the fastest rout. I should have known that the damn computer is having fun on my expense when we approached Munich! It seems that the Nav decided to take to take us all the way around Bavaria. The moral: check the rout if doesn’t seem right.
We didn’t have any reservations and had troubles finding a hotel. Finally, we found a room in the village of Hohenschwngau. The next day we visited the 2 castles and a third one in Lindau. Here the trip turned interesting.
My wife decided to visit Switzerland. I programmed the Nav to give us the shortest rout to Pontecina (outside St. Moritz). WOW! What a ride! There’s no way to describe what it feels driving the new 3 with sport package and Active Steering on narrow mountain roads. Unfortunately, the Nav got us in trouble again A12 is under construction. I just couldn’t make the Nav to find me an alternative rout. I had to ask for directions.
Switzerland is beautiful and very expensive. In Pontecina we are staying at the Muller hotel. Very nice and friendly establishment with free internet. Tomorrow back to Germany to Rothenburg od der Tauber.
