 Anyone use VOB or Tischer????

Folks

I know that Passport is often recommended as the place to do ED in the DC area, but they are not convenient to me for service and I've found that having a car serviced where you buy it seems to make a difference in how customers are treated. VOB and Tischer are closer to where I live and work and I would welcome feedback from anyone who has used them recently for ED.

Thanks

John

I have not heard good things at all about VOB. Passport can really make your ED a pleasure and not hassles which is the important part. The service and repairs are paid by the factory and all the dealers are anxious to do it and the service is only at 15K intervals.

I did my ED purchase through Tischer. I had a very good experience going through the process of showing the confidential invoice sheet and dealing with the salesman. I was given a fair price (by bimmerfest standards) and maybe/possibly could have saved $200 going to Passport.

The only problem that I have is my salesperson decided the car bizness was not for him and left Tischer while I was in Germany after 12 years with them. The car is now at the dealership and I am waiting for the call, from someone.......

As a side note, I did get a quote from VOB, but the saleman was unable to deal within the $1000-1500+ invoice price range.

Yes, VOB was great on my last car purchase. But that salesman left.

On the X3 they tried to screw me 5 ways to Sunday: they did not want to negotiate invoice, started using the Diplomatic price (bigger than the ED price) and finally tried using the 2004 pricelist instead of the 2005 one (Premium pack was $1500 more in 2004). Then to top it all, when I told them about their "mistake" they promised to investigate but never got back to me in more than 1 month (!).

Passport was great.

On the other hand, I'm servicing the car at VOB with great results. I told them square in the face that I did not buy the car from them, and the reason why. The guy understood and did not give me any grief.

Same thing happend to me, he asked me if I worked for the government because he could get me diplomat pricing.... "I am going to Germany, use ED Prices"

His eyeballs almost popped out of his head when I pulled out my Bimmerfest Price sheet. Needless to say, I went down to Hooters for wings instead of dealing with him.

You can buy your car at one dealer and get it serviced at another. You don't even need to talk to anyone. You just go into BMW Owner's Circle online and you can pick a service dealer before the car is even built.

I can't confirm this because I haven't had it done yet, but I think Passport drives to my work (in VA), picks up my car, leaves me a loaner, services it, and then brings it back to work for me when they're done.
