Need Advice on ED repair that was missed and now has to be done at the dealer.

It was noted on my harms drop off and wasn't fixed. Dealer said he was out of the loop when I picked it up and to contact Gerling Insurance. I faxed everything and they gave me the authorization to get it fixed. Cool i'm fine now, however they mentioned to provide them with my bank routing number ect for a deposit into my account. They expect me to pay for the repairs and then be reimbursed after the fact. I wrote them back asking why couldn't they contact my dealer and work this out for I certainly didn't want to front any repair costs. Altough it is only a front wheel replacement that was scraped.

They said they can pay my dealer direct if they are willing to do so. What is the policy here? I don't feel I should have to front these costs and I'm communicating over email with Gerling. Please advise.

I don't see what the problem is as long as Gerling reimburses you in full for any costs/charges.

Exactly. There was damage during my 2000 ED and Gerling just wired the money to me after the repairs were done. No problem at all.

well that is good to know, i just see this as an unnecessary step after they missed the repair in the first place. I emailed my dealer and will get an answer as to if they can be paid directly. Thanks for your input.

Who missed the repair? I'm confused. Its your car already by taking delivery in Munich. Some repairs can be handled in Germany, some have to be handled here by the owner, meaning you.

Going by all the posts going on missed repair of damage to ED cars I think I will have
to contact Gerling too myself. I had a small scratch on the right front wheel rim while parking. What is Gerling's email.
