ok, so I get all worked up about NYK loosing the key and finally pick up the on Sept 23rd (Friday) -and yes, my friend warned me that it is bad omen to pick up a car on a friday. I drive the car for 11 days, washed it two times (was planning to Klasse it the following weekend); and then on Oct 5th - 12 days after I pick up my car after re-edlivery I decide to meet up for lunch with a buddy of mine. I pick him up at Stanford (and let him drive the car for a min or so), and then we decide to take both cars out. I am following him and there are 2 stop signs (that street has a 20 ft median). My friend crosses the first stop and reaches the second. I follow him and STOP at the first stop sign, look left and then look right (I wonder about why I am looking right since it is a one way street) and then look straight. There is NO ONE there. I take my foot off the brake and proceed to the second stop where my friends car is still stopped. WHAM... someone is in front of me.... there is darkness (airbag inflated)and can feel something (damage) is happening in the front. I am probably at 2 miles an hour. BMW assist is called automatically, the 4 ways start flashing, and my door is opened (not sure if I locked it - but it was open when I reached to open it to get out). Not even a stratch on me.
I look around and see a blue Subaru WRX in the grass median with a young asian kid trying to get out.
Apparently, there was a turn on the street that I was trying to cross and my visibility was only about 100 ft. The guy must have been at 50-60mph in a 25 zone and must have reached the intersection when I was looking right.
This happened on Wed Oct 5th at 1pm. For those who go to Stanford, please be cautious at the Lasuen/Campus Drive intersection (where the Business School building is at). They have Stop signs everywhere in that campus but that street which really needs one.
The other driver has claimed in the police report that he was at 25-30mph which was definately not the case - I would have seen him approching in that case.
Insurance has determined both car as being totalled (I was really surprised they totalled his since he only had a driver side door damage).
My first BMW - my first accident ever in my life after having driven for 10+ yrs. And the car that I loved so much is GONE.

I would love to get another e90, but I think insurance will only pay for ED price. Does anyone know if BMW NA or ED can help me get ED price ..... I know that this is not their issue or concern - but wondering if anyone knew if they can help in any way in getting a good deal on a new car.
