Just checked my secret decoder ring. Plant of mfr. is K, which is München.

For example, I might say Prosit Neujahr (Happy New Year) but I´d never say Prost Neujahr.
If I drink a Bier, I´d probably say Prost. If I´m singing, it´s ,,Ein Prosit, ein Prosit...``

Would I be correct by guessing you checked the 11th VIN character?
So a P for the assembly plant would be Leipzig?

I believe P is Leipzig yes.
Munich - A, F, G, K
Dingolfing - B, C, D
Regensburg - E, J
Spartanburg - L
My last two cars were made in Regensburg (3er E46) and Dingolfing (5er).
