 Delivery at Dealership

Now for some reason i assumed that you could get your car delivered to any dealer regardless where you made the euro delivery order. My salesperson just told me that was not possible. Is that true???

Come on now... how is this any different than any other purchase?

If you order a car from XYZ BMW, it's going to get shipped to XYZ BMW regardless of whether or not you took European Delivery of it. They only way around this is to arrange a courtesy delivery, where you dealer pays another dealer to have the car dropped there and to have them do a delivery for you. The normal fee is around $500. You'll probably have to absorb this if you go that route.

It is possible...it is called a Courtesy Delivery. You will need to set this up very soon after arriving back from ED drop-off...if not sooner. Sooner is probably always better. The catch? Usually, it will cost you around 500 bones.

But courtesy delivery is not a given. Not all dealers will do it, even if they "should"

Is there a reason for this other than spite? I realize it happens, and dealers are within their rights to refuse, but it seems like it would make good business sense in most cases because it's a chance to convert a customer from another dealer.

No clue actually. Just what several dealers have told me.
