Have been searching for a while but still can't decide: I was planning to pick up my new 330i on 10/17 and do a 2 week drive/vacation to Munich, Prague, Salzburg, Vienna, Venice and then through Switzerland to Amsterdam for the drop off. Now, due to work, I need to be back in the States for the last week of October. I have 2 options:
1. Cut the trip down to 1 week 2. Go 2 weeks in November (pickup 10/31, dropoff 11/14), assuming I can work the delay out with BMW
I am concerned about the weather in November. I noticed that a lot of people doing November pickups have xi's (i have the SP on an i) and am afraid I might not be able to enjoy the autobahn with rain or snow and generally be cold...
What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? | It´s possible that your car is already registered and insured for the time you specified originally (the license plates have an expiry) so that might complicate things. The weather will be much nicer in October v. November for sure. I´d probably go in October.

I'm with Jonathan on that- go for the week in October, especially if you aren't experienced with driving RWD in bad weather. DSC/DTC will help you out, but in the end you will probably enjoy the car more in nicer weather. Plus if you do it in October, the car will be re-delivered earlier!

Thanks for the advice guys. Another complication is that I will only be able to pick up the car on Monday morning so my driving time will be limited to about 5 days. The delay in redelivery is a good point but I will be away for the second half of December anyway and it seemd redelivery takes about 2 months for the west coast so it wont make that much of a difference. Do you know if it is possible to make arrangements for a saturday pickup? I seem to remember that at least in the past people were able to do that in return for an additional fee.
