ED in 2 days. Help with driving directions.

Going to pick up my 750Li Oct 4th. Just wondering if any of you knew the fastest route to Amsterdam. Also those who drove, how long did it take? Same question applies to Amdam to Paris. Thanks.

I have never driven to Amsterdam before.. but from my experince driving in Germany I would think you are better off taking the Autobahn and:

1) Drive EAST towards Stuttgart

2) Go North towards Frankfurt, the stretch of autobahn from Stuttgart to Frankfurt Am-Main is one of the widest/straightest/fastest around. You will REALLY FLY there!! so do be careful.

3) You will slow down by Langden just miles away from Frankfurt due to traffic but you can tune into American Radio for traffic report once cleared Frankfurt by Wiesebaden (sp) You should start flying agin towards Cologne.

That is alot of driving (and alot of $160 fill-ups) Not something I would do in one day.... but that's just me...

good luck,

beewang

Hey Bee, last time I checked, Stuttgart was located west of Munich.

And seven06, here's a good website to get driving directions in EU:

In absence of a Nav. system, I've also found http://routenplaner.yahoo.net/ to be very useful.

Here is a thread from somebody that did an ED roadtrip through Northern Europe in 3 days.

His first leg was Munich-Amsterdam and he did it in just a little over 7 hours.
