Color Choice Dilemma - How Much Time Do I Have?

I am having second thoughts about my color choice primarily because I haven't seen one yet in the color (Deep Green) that I've ordered. My second choice is Black Sapphire. How late can I change my color? Over the years, I've had cars in Silver, Blue, White and Red. So, I want something different now. I can play it safe and go with the Black but I really like Green as a color. I just hope BMW is able to pull off a good rendition in real life.

When I just called the BMWNA number (1-800-831-1117) I am told that the vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet. The euro delivery date has been accepted for November 7.

It was a lot easier for me to choose the car and the options! But color seems to be a different story... I am not worried about resale value because I plan to enjoy it for at least 10 years. Just want to be happy with my choice over the long run.

How late have people been able to make changes (especially color) to their order?

Thanks, in advance!

You can change it unless your status has changed to Scheduled for Production w/c happens about 5 weeks before your confirmed pick up date. So, better do it next week.

I made a change about 5 weeks prior to scheduled ED pickup. It was a minor change though, and I wouldn't chance something as important as color to that close to the deadline. (where are you in the Space Coast? I lived in Melbourne Beach for quite a few years.)

Thanks. I lived in Cocoa Beach for a year before deciding to move inland (5 miles west) to Merritt Island.

Durning the Munich Factory Tour we were told that you can change the car 6 days before the date of production. There is no difference between changing the color or selecting optional wheels. If your ED is NOV 7th, you don't have much time because they are finished at least 1 month beforehand.

BTW, I lived in Melbourne, FL for 5 years... small world

As others have already said "do it soon".

I've noticed several members have mentioned calling the 800 # and getting "scheduled for production with no date" and then on the next call "the car was already in production".
