Is mid-October late for December delivery?

I plan to place my order in mid October and plan on going to Europe sometime in December (before they go on vacation). Is it impossible to have the car ready by then? I know people say to place order at least 3 months ahead but I won't be able to have everything ready (for my loan) until mid October.

Thanks!

You can request a car from the short notice availability pool but no you can't order a car.

Don't you think there's a reason that everyone incl. BMW says to order 90 days in advance? I'm not sure what the loan has to do with it since you won't be getting the car until December anyway.

By the way, if you're not ordering a car with X-drive, you might consider bringing snows along with you. You may find driving conditions VERY limited in December.

Yeah, I know. I am from Europe and I hope for a dry winter at that time of the year. I just want to make a useful vacation out of it because I could pick the car up and visit my family at the same time.

Do you mean that I don't have to pay for the car until I pick it up? DOn't they need to get a proof of payment before you place an order? This will be my first car out of a dealership so I don't really how the process work...

Weather in Europe varies by region - Europe is a big place! (Where are you from?)

The car is paid for 14 days before delivery. You may or may not need to make a deposit when you place the order.

I'm from Slovakia (a few hours from Germany) so the climate should be similar, if not better. I'd be taking a trip around the whole Europe though so I would probably prepare somehow. I am considering "xi" but since I'll be moving to California in a couple of years, I'm not sure if it's worth it that much.

Thanks for the info. Had I known this before, I would have ordered at the beginning of September. I had no idea that you don't need to have the money ready until 14 days before delivery. Would I still make it for December delivery if I ordered, let's say, next week?
